Many times, our dreams can overwhelm us. We can feel uncertain or even confused by the desires stirring within us. But one thing is certain: if we are feeling restless or discontent, we are not fully living the life God has called us to live. Feelings of discontent and a longing for something more, even when we don’t know exactly what we are being drawn toward, are often calls from God to pursue our greater purpose. Discontent is not something to ignore; it is a gentle nudge from the Divine, urging us to seek and discover the deeper desires He has placed in our hearts.
When you experience discontent or restlessness and aren’t sure why, don’t shut it out just because you can’t yet understand it. Ignoring those feelings can cause us to grow numb and complacent, preventing us from stepping into the fullness of what God has in store for us. Instead, bring those feelings to the forefront of your mind, and seek God in prayer to help you understand them. These inner stirrings are often leading us toward a more meaningful life, a life that aligns with His will and purpose for us. God calls us to more than mediocrity; He calls us to thrive in the abundant life He promises. By opening ourselves to those stirrings, we allow God to use them to guide us toward our divine calling.
We must also be cautious of the voices of others who may try to discourage or criticize us, pushing us to suppress our dreams or discontent. Restlessness can be God’s voice speaking to us, telling us there is more, and that we are not meant to lead lives of limitation. Allow His voice to be louder and clearer than the opinions of others. Can you hear it? The still small voice inside? Take time to quiet your thoughts. Even right now in this sacred moment, I invite you to take a deep breath. Tell your mind to hush and tune into the place inside that connects to the Divine. Give yourself permission to sit here. Quietly. Silently. Within you is the capacity to hear more clearly than you ever have before. In this space where the precious whispers of eternity can be heard louder than any other, Take another deep breath. This my friend is peace and it is where you can stop the outside noise and receive an empowered message just for you. Hang out here anytime, all the time. It is amazing what you can discover about your purpose and God’s plans for you.
We are not here to settle for less than what God has planned for us, nor should we let anyone limit what He is calling us to do. Each of us has infinite potential, and God has uniquely equipped us to fulfill the purpose He has set before us.
Our dreams, desires, and longings are not random—they are God-given. They pull at us, speak to us, and persistently stir our hearts because we were made to live in His abundance, not in limitation. Let these inner frictions continue to build until they spark a fire that propels you toward your purpose. You will know that your desires are aligned with God’s will when simply talking about them fills you with energy, even when the journey to fulfillment seems distant.
By acknowledging these desires and harnessing the energy they bring, you are participating in the greater plan God has set for your life. Trust that your discontent is not a curse, but a blessing that will lead you toward the abundant, purposeful life God has promised. Embrace it, seek His guidance, and let it guide you toward the dreams He has placed in your heart.
